Three months ago on June 9th 2011, the Japanese voice actress who played Natalie and Casi in the Ape Escape games lost her battle with ovary cancer and passed away. Her name is Tomoko Kawakami. She played the roles of Natalie and Casi ever since the first Ape Escape game came out in 1999 and did Natalie's voice in the anime: Saru Get Chu ~On Air~. The last game she worked with Sony was Ape Escape: Saru Saru Daisakusen in 2007, a year before she was diagnosed with ovary cancer in 2008. The news of her death shocked the Ape Escape fan community in deviantART. Among the many tributes that were made to Tomoko Kawakami, Suzan43's tribute to the deceased voice actress is the only one that recognizes her role in the Ape Escape games. If you have a deviantART account, please support her tribute. browse.deviantart.com/?qh=§ion=&q=Tomoko+Kawakami#/d3j0jkxAs far as I know, with Ape Escape 4 in development, Sony has not yet announced who is going to replace Tomoko Kawakami to do Natalie's voice for the Japanese version of the game for the past three months, or posted any news about her death.

It's not surprising there's been no statement from Sony. It's unclear whether or not they even acknowledge the damn game, let alone who the cast is.
All the same though: Terrible news. Terrible....
