Well, I'm editing this post because my "Online P&P" idea isn't great. Ape Escape fans would like a new title like the Main Series ones.
Well, this is my idea:
Name: Ape Escape: Monkalypse Graphics engine: Same as AE Fury Fury, or Renderware (same as The Sims 3, GTA III and many other games games) Physics engine: Euphoria (same as Grand Theft Auto IV) or Havok (same as Half-Life 2 and Resident Evil 5) Playable characters: Jake and Natalie Storyline: the events of this game happens at the same time as AE3, in this game, Jake and Natalie are trying to survive the monkey mayhem. The game starts after Natalie tells Yumi and Kei about the monkeys, Jakes enters the Professor's house to check if Natalie is ok, after this, a lot of monkeys start to invade the house, Natalie and Jake takes two Monkey Nets, both gets out of the house and they make a way to a safe place, the game starts out of the house, here you must run away from the monkeys, if you try to capture them, the monkeys will attack you and you will die. Along the game, you will find some materials, these materials will be used to make new gadgets. Specter will make few appearances sending messages to Jake and Natalie on the Casi Device.
Features: - Coop gameplay, your partner will be controlled by AI or an online friend to help you along the game - Big stages and a lot of monkeys to capture (at least 50 per stage) - Achievements, try to collect them all! - Harder enemies, strong attacks, fast enemies and them are hard to destroy! - Upgrade your gadgets, make them more powerful and useful! - Modifiable, use your own player, gadgets and enemies skins and models!
Gadgets: - Monkey Net - The main gadget, used to capture monkeys only. - Casi Device - you get it at first stage, but it will work only after the second stage, it works like a monkey/enemy radar and it can receive tips of the game from Casi using it. - Stun Club - You get it at the second stage, used to defeat enemies. - Capture gun - This gadget is used to capture monkeys from a long range, you can make it using steel, wood and any monkey stone, it looks like a revolver. - Slingshot - used to defeat enemies and hit buttons from a long distance, made of wood and elastic. - Attack Gun - same as Slingshot but the Attack gun, is faster, more powerful, and better to aim, made of steel, looks like a shotgun. - Water Gadget - Used to capture monkeys and defeat enemies underwater, made of plastic and any monkey stone - Hoop - Makes the player run faster, made of plastic and Blue Stone - Skyflyer - Makes the player fly for a few seconds, made of plastic and Green stone - Monkey Lure Rod - Used to lure some monkeys, made of fishing rod and banana lure - Lantern - Used in dark stages, made of plastic and a lamp, needs a battery pack to work.
Monkeys and Enemies: - Common monkeys - Common monkeys using many pants colors, common monkeys eating a banana will drop banana lure after captured. - Armored monkeys - You should destroy the armor first to capture armored monkeys, after destroying his armor he will drop any type of Slingshot/Attack Gun ammo. - Special Monkeys - Monkeys using funny clothes, drops cookies after captured. - Monkey Remains - A monkey skeleton, you can't capture it, but you can defeat it, after defeated, he drops some Capture ammo - Monkey ghost - You can't capture or defeat Monkey Ghosts, but you can scare them using the lantern. - Robots - Robots of many sizes, drops any type of Slingshot/Attack Gun ammo.
Bosses: - Freemonkey - His name is a joke to "Gordon Freeman" (from HL series), he wears a iron suit, he is fast but not so much strong, he can speak english. - Sambamonkey - A Brazilian monkey, he loves Samba, he is more slow and powerful than Freemonkey, he can't talk. - Heavy Weapons Monkey - His name is a joke to "Heavy Weapons Guy" (from Team Fortress 2), he is a very slow monkey, but the most powerful of them, he carries a Gatling Gun , he can speak english too.
Collectible items: - Coins - Used to buy cookies, lives, items and upgrade gadgets. - Common/Explosive/Guided ammo - ammo for Slingshot and Attack Gun - Capture ammo - ammo for Capture Gun - Plastic/Steel/Wood/Elastic - found on stages - Monkey Stone - found on stages, used to make capture gadgets - Lamp - get from Freemonkey, used to make lantern - Blue stone - get from Sambamonkey, used to make hoop - Green stone - get from Heavy Weapons Monkey, used to make Skyflyer - Fishing Rod - found on a stage, used to make Monkey Lure Rod - Banana Lure - get from monkeys eating a banana - Battery pack - found on some stages

;D Ok mine would be... [glow=red,2,300]Ape Escape Multi[/glow] It is a multiplayer game (Catching like the original series) that you choose who you want to be: -Spike(Kakeru) -Jimmy (I would choose him)(Hikaru) -Kei(Satoru) -Yumi(Sayaka) You first start of with Spike and Jimmy getting a message from the professor telling you that monkeys have escaped. You see one and you go try to catch it, but its ran away. Kei and Yumi then teleport to you and will help you. They will give you monkey nets and they will join u. You all go together and you choose if u wanna change characters, or it can be multiplayer with someone or 3 other ppl Then it turns out that specter kidnapped Jake and turned him into a monkey(you can ignore this part as it is silly but it was the only thing in my mind) I hope you likey

Does this really need to be asked? It's been 5 years since the last REAL Ape Escape game. People who actually like Ape Escape, liked Ape Escape 1, 2, and 3, those 3 games, especially the first, represent what people love about the series, it's obvious what FANS want, a throwback to the first game! 2 and 3 went a bit overboard with "Hohoh look we're so mischievous and silly!" and simply didn't feel like as much of a real adventure as the first.
I suggest the lead designers of the new game simply take notes from the first game, and expand upon it with some minor gameplay changes (Ape Escape 3's Persona feature was immensely fun) maybe some added MP features and whatnot. But you can't take away what made the first game the best in the franchise: An Epic adventure through incredibly varied stages, with charming, but not ridiculously over-the-top characters, monkeys, and overall tone.

I gotta say...I'd love nothing more than for the next substantial Ape Escape game, presumably AE4, to have that same spirit of the original. I mean, it's damn true. AE3 was a real rebound from the somewhat lackluster AE2, and totally worthwhile, but both of them got carried away with establishing this hokey narrative that they got themselves wrapped up in. Comparatively, AE1 was a very pure, honest adventure, and that carried over to the less ambitious story, which you can actually appreciate more than the convolution the later games introduced.
In all fairness, it's by no means easy to keep that going, at least while balancing that with the pursuit to expand appeal. Frankly, I feel AE1 blew SM64 outta the water, but it's nigh impossible to replicate what Nintendo's done with the Mario franchise as a whole. They've managed to sustain that inherent simplicity, in all fields, while keeping it the most successful video game franchise of all time. AE1 was more involved than any Mario game, but it's still a far cry from the labored, deliberate goofiness of its sequels. Again though...real tough. If it's one lesson people have forgotten these days, it's that less is more.

how bout a game where you play as specter and spike forced to team up to stop a new threat cause specter will be trying to trick spike it could be interesting to see the two together maybe some co-op and 1p mode like spike captures them with time net the usual stuff hopefully add new devices specter could float around on his mecha chair blasting the monsters why spike is catching the out of specters control apes maybe throw in some mini games not make it full on mini game though i like free roam chasing the apes and some puzzles were you have to use specter and spike to overcome or if in 1p you pick say spike and specter bits aren't there so he can advance lol possibly make it so you can unlock more chars like Jake hikaru natsumi even a regular monkey big open envorments to run around as well ape escape 1 is my favorite title as i liked spike better than hikaru 3 was good with the transformations probably add that in too like rescue aki and she gives the device to go save the others captured for some reason make them something like a alien breed of apes and opening level or vid could be spike and specter going at it and specter uses a new device that creates a blackhole hoping to pull spike in but these weird monkeys come out and control his minions of apes they try to control specter but he fights with his physic powers from his peak point helmet they disappear with all his minions and specter and spike have to join up after seeing outside humans and apes are being control ed they manage to rescue the professor and natsumi (to make spikes gadgets) making Natsumi playable would be fun but not a carbon copy i played million monkeys make each char different like say Jake could being controlled like hikaru and sayaka at 1st you have to fight them to free them also same with specters freaky monkey 5 i think pink would be fun to play as with her mood change lol just a few i ideas i thought quickly i think a true 2p ape escape game could be fun add some zany funny moments in the game like the monkeys in hot springs i laughed alot seeing that XD

Not to be rude or anything, but this is highly suspect. Why would SCEJ waste talent making a PC game? If they're supposedly in development for Ape Escape 4, how would it make sense to devote resources to a PC game? Especially given that SCEJ has never even made a PC game. In fact, SCEI is against making games that don't push PlayStation products (SOE is a separate company, so they don't count, nor does the mobile phone games) so why would they do that? It doesn't sound like something they'd do other than maybe some cheapo flash games.

How on earth they managed to get the rights to publish an Ape Escape game, I'll never really know. Also the God Of War collection was released on PC.

SCE is apparently publishing the game in Japan. The guys here at ApeClub may be referring to their plans to put out an English-language download of the game, if they're still doing that. In that sense, they may be the technical 'publisher' in western territories.
As for it being on PC in the first place, there's perhaps an argument there that an original PS2 game is now going to do better on PC...at least where the dedicated AE fanbase is concerned. Whatever the case, it should also be noted these ideas we've contributed in the thread seem to have been disregarded. No worries though. Just looking forward to screens/footage of TiSaT.

Here are what I would like to see in a new Ape Escape title:
1) Have a character roster. I would love to be able to choose characters such as Spike, Natalie, Casi or the Professor himself and use them to go catch monkeys. The roster should include the original Ape Escape cast, including Helga, Kei, Yumi and Jimmy (including Pipotchi). They all should have different stats (speed, jump, stamina, power and technique) from each other to give the player a more enjoyable gaming experience. Characters can be unlocked by saving them in the levels they are found.
An example would be that the Professor has the most power and stamina out of the roster, but his speed and jump greatly suffers due to his weight, putting him at the bottom of the list for being the slowest and not being able to jump as high as everyone else.
I believe that this would be a huge improvement over the selection between Kei and Yumi in Ape Escape 3, and increase the replay value.
2) CO-OP MODE THIS MUST BE FEATURED IN A NEW APE ESCAPE TITLE. In Co-op mode, two human players can cooperate together to beat bosses, complete time trials and catch monkeys, or compete with each other to see who can catch the monkeys in each stage. When cooperating with each other in levels, the screen will be split into two for Player 1 and 2. In boss battles, they all share the same screen. When competing with each other, players can stun each other with their gadgets to disrupt each other from catching monkeys. If you can't find anyone to play beside you, you can use PSN to find someone who has the same game as you.
3) Survival Mode Ape Escape games need to tough. The last difficult Ape Escape game I played was Million Monkeys. In Survival Mode, you only have one cookie in your health bar. If you lose that one cookie, you lose a life. You may be lucky to only lose half a cookie but it rarely happens. During Survival Mode, you are under a time limit, catch a minimum number of monkeys and find a banana coin which will be used to unlock secret stages (Kind of like how you find star coins to unlock secret stages in New Super Mario Bros. Wii). The monkeys are tougher and more aggressive towards you. Survival Mode can also be done in Co-op Mode, and it can only be unlocked after catching all of the monkeys in the level.
4) Bigger replay value of the levels Besides adding Co-op Mode and its features, along with Survival Mode, there should be some areas in the stages where you couldn't enter because you need a certain number of monkeys. For example, there is a stage where you are catching monkeys but some areas are closed off until you capture like 100 monkeys.
5) A sequel to Mesal Gear Solid I love Mesal Gear Solid, and it was the minigame that introduced me to Solid Snake and the Metal Gear franchise. I would like to see that Snake got too old to do his job (Snake got old in MGS4) that he has to hire Pipo Snake to take over his job and save the world.
6) Make the last Specter boss battle really epic. I mean REALLY EPIC. We often see Specter fight us with robots, but I want the new Ape Escape title to have something different from the last boss fights with Specter. In the last fight with Specter in the game, Specter should drink a huge overdose of some Vita-Z Powerup Drink which turned him into a huge, creepy and monstrous gorilla (the Giga Bowser version of Specter) and beat the hell out of you. He will only return back to normal once he is defeated, and it will be a long fight.
7) Have the Freaky Monkey Five fight you (and your friend in co-op mode) with all five members. In Ape Escape 2, 3 and Saru Saru Daisakusen, we fought each one of them individually but we have never fought them as a team. Before the Final Battle with Specter (the one I mentioned in 6), they should all team up together, wear power ranger-like suits, and give you the one hell of a fight of a life time. Since there are five of them, the difficulty should be high but not too high. If the boss battle with the five members get too tough, you can ask a friend to fight with you. If you want to crank up the difficulty, you can play it in Survival Mode.

For me, my favorite gaming experience of "Ape Escape" is the traditional "Ps1/On the Loose"/"Ape Escape: 1, 2, 3, Pumped&Primed, and MillionMonkeys"-gameplay, and I love using not just Spike, but also Jimmy with Pipotchi, Kei and Yumi, and also Natalie, the Professor, Jake/Buzz, Casi, and Helga, and I loved "Million Monkeys'" Storylines consisting of both the Humans and Specter's Side (in it, you find out he's not the real villain, and you could control not just a Pipo Monkey (like the PSP Game: Big Mission), but also Specter as well!) Oh, and also, what if you find out that Specter isn't doing all this, and you find out it's "Nazo" (Helga's Father), using his Pipotrons and his Grid-Core (of "Pumped & Primed")?! Ah yes, the classic gaming-style with today's newest tricks! Oh yeah, and the animation of the PS-Move's Ape Escape Cutscenes, they might be good if done over the Japanese anime of "Ape Escape" characters! All that stuff makes good gaming! Hope it all works out that way!
